Titihuia is an art work depicting a now extinct bird once found in the rain forests of New Zealand. The Titihuia is a female and has a long, thin beak while the male has a shorter, wider beak. The male and female would work as a team with the male using its beak to dig into trees and once an opening is mad the female would reach in with its long beak to pull out any grubs or food within the tree. Because of this co-dependency a pair of Huia would generally mate for life.
